An amateur skygazer using Google Maps located a broad ring-shaped dent in northern Quebec. Specialists from Quebec’s geological survey confirmed it is a colossal meteorite impact crater dating back 390 million years near Lake Mistassini. The ground formation resembles other confirmed craters and signals a major ancient collision. Satellite images were mapped against field data to substantiate the discovery.
