Connor Goldson made it through a 13-hour cardiac operation overnight.

He spent Sunday night in the intensive care unit after doctors finished the job.

Goldson wrote a short post just after midnight to say he's holding steady.

This was the second time in the past few months he has needed major surgery.

The player has now left hospital and is resting at his house with his family close by.

Medical staff have him under watch while he heals.
