Fitch Ratings has revised its outlook for ANZ New Zealand to positive. The lender's long-term issuer rating is unchanged at A+. The agency said the move relates to potential new debt instruments for senior creditors. These instruments would help absorb losses.
This revision happens ahead of fresh regulatory capital rules in New Zealand that take effect in 2028. Fitch also applied the same positive outlook to Westpac New Zealand.
